About Me

Hola.

Heeeeyy… My name is Catherine. And I’m pretty awesome.

In my twenties, I used to live with someone who insisted on having chips, cookies, and soda in the house at all times. It was a constant struggle but somehow I managed to lose 65lbs on Weight Watchers during that time.

My weight had peaked at the age of 21. I looked and felt like a parade balloon and I knew that I had a decision to make: Me or food. Life or a slow, waddling death.

I made my choice and I’m still proud of the work that I did to get from where I was to where I am now – even if that does include an extra almost 30lbs which have snuck back onto my frame during the past eight years  from slacked habits and excess portions.

I remember wondering to myself back then, even while I was losing all that weight, what I could accomplish if only I was living with someone who truly supported me here. But over the past few months I’ve become aware of a stark, uncomfortable reality: that’s B.S.

I’ve realized exactly what excuses I’ve been making: “if only” this and “when i can” that. It’s crap. All of this starts and ends with me. This is the realization, this is the truth, this is the harsh light of day.

My intention for this blog is to record my hopes, goals, trials, thoughts, work and processes for weightloss. I invite you to join me on this adventure! I can’t promise that it will always be amazing and uplifting, but…well… this is all mine and I’ll do with it whatever I please.

  1. Hello, Catherine. Boy, is this serendipity or what? In the process of writing my freshly published novel, I gained 35 pounds. And now I want it off. I’m going to be reading your blog daily for inspiration. Thank you.
